Think on These Things
Philippians 4:8 (AMP) Finally, believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God’s word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things [center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart].
I love how the amplified version ends this verse, implant them in your heart. Thinking on these things once in a while is okay but for us to truly transform the way we think, we must continually think on these things and implant them in our hearts. When in a trying season, it is sure to squeeze us in new ways and when we are squeezed we see what is really on the inside of our hearts. Luke 6 tells us for out of the abundance of our heart, the mouth speaks. What is currently in your heart? What are listening to and watching? Would you invite Jesus to sit and watch/listen with you? Or maybe you would feel ashamed and embarrassed. Remember, God sees everything and even knows your thoughts.
Today, my prayer is that we would be strong in the Lord, always thinking pure thoughts, casting down every negative thought that comes against God’s Word; and through our diligence, every season of squeezing would produce much fruit for the Kingdom of Heaven. May we continually live in union with our Bridegroom, Jesus.
John 15:5 (TPT) “I am the sprouting vine and you’re my branches. As you live in union with me as your source, fruitfulness will stream from within you—but when you live separated from me you are powerless."
