The Goodness of God
Psalm 23:6 (AMPC) Surely or only goodness, mercy, and unfailing love shall follow me all the days of my life, and through the length of my days the house of the Lord [and His presence] shall be my dwelling place.
How many of you would say, yes, you desire to dwell - to live - in the presence of the Lord every single day of your life? This is absolutely my heart's desire - to serve Him with all I have. I want to feel and experience His glory every day. This is the place where my problems are minimized and my God is maximized. Everything goes into the proper perspective and I am more God-conscious than self-conscious. His love becomes tangible as I am overwhelmed with His goodness - realizing that He would take time for me, to bless me.
Psalm 31:19-20 (NLT) How great is the goodness you have stored up for those who fear you. You lavish it on those who come to you for protection, blessing them before the watching world. You hide them in the shelter of your presence, safe from those who conspire against them. You shelter them in your presence, far from accusing tongues.
God wants to lavish His goodness upon you, to protect you and bless you in front of others. He is our safe place, our refuge when we need shelter. Have you ever experienced a day where you just wanted to go hide from everyone and get away from all the noise? The pressure in life becomes immense and you just want to step away and breathe - there is such a place of restoration - the presence of Jesus. Step away from distractions and sit down with Him, talk to Him, pour out your heart to Him. Give yourself the opportunity to be renewed in His presence. The world cannot offer anything that compares. Nothing will ever replace the glory and goodness of our great God!
Isaiah 6:3 (NLT) They were calling out to each other, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of Heaven’s Armies! The whole earth is filled with his glory!”
