Stir Yourself Up!

2 Timothy 1:6 (AMPC) That is why I would remind you to stir up (rekindle the embers of, fan the flame of, and keep burning) the [gracious] gift of God, [the inner fire] that is in you by means of the laying on of my hands [with those of the elders at your ordination].

I love Paul’s reminder to Timothy to stir up the fire that’s on the inside of him. For many of us this current season has felt like a lifetime and if we aren’t careful we can grow weary in doing good. Today I want to encourage you to fan the flame of that fire on the inside of you, rekindle those embers, keep the fire burning. We have been given a spirit of power, love and a sound mind through Christ and nothing can separate us from the amazing love of God.

We have so much to be thankful for and as Believer’s we have the privilege to share this fire and passion for Jesus with others. As we continue on in this journey, let’s remember to be strengthened and filled up in the Lord’s presence so we always have something available to pour out. Many are still struggling with the affects of these last 3 years and feel depressed and lonely. Remember King David had to encourage himself in the Lord. We are fully equipped to fulfill all God has called us to do because we have the scriptures to instruct us, convict us, correct us, discipline us and train us.

Be strengthened and encouraged knowing God is for you and He is always with you!

1 Samuel 30:6 (AMPC) David was greatly distressed, for the men spoke of stoning him because the souls of them all were bitterly grieved, each man for his sons and daughters. But David encouraged and strengthened himself in the Lord his God.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 (AMPC) Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness (in holy living, in conformity to God’s will in thought, purpose, and action), So that the man of God may be complete and proficient, well fitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work.
