Galatians 6:1-4 (TPT) My beloved friends, if you see a believer who is overtaken with a fault, may the one who overflows with the Spirit seek to restore him. Win him over with gentle words, which will open his heart to you and will keep you from exalting yourself over him. Love empowers us to fulfill the law of the Anointed One as we carry each other’s troubles. If you think you are too important to stoop down to help another, you are living in deception. Let everyone be devoted to fulfill the work God has given them to do with excellence, and their joy will be in doing what’s right and being themselves, and not in being affirmed by others.
Are you overflowing with the Spirit of God? When you see another Christian that has been overtaken by sin, what are your initial reactions? Do you speak words of negativity and blame and shake your head in disbelief or do you speak life over that person and offer help? If the first reaction is one of "what a shame they would do that" then that just means we have some work to do on ourselves because we have all fallen short of the glory of God - way short. We should be so filled with God that when we see something happen to another believer, we run to them with love and prayer, seeking to restore them back to their first love.
As we spend our daily time with Jesus, we will become powered by love - this equips us to do the works of God with a sincere heart and without judgment toward others. We must devote our lives to this high calling - loving others the way Jesus did. As we grow closer to God, we will care less and less about receiving affirmation from our peers. The only opinion that matters is God's - because His opinion is always rooted in Truth and it doesn't change based on our behavior. He always sees the best in us - He knows our potential - He desires the best for us - He is just waiting for us to have the revelation of His Word concerning us.
True love will seek to bless others without desiring anything in return. This love will never cheer when one is wronged, even if it is done to an enemy because love desires the best for everyone. This can be a tough pill to swallow if we don't remind ourselves that the devil is behind every evil and wicked act known to mankind. When someone is committing horrible acts, they are in bondage to sin and their minds do not know peace. They desperately need a revelation of God's love and we can be the ones shining the light of Christ in the darkness and help set people free! Love will win! Be powered by love through your intimate relationship with Christ and nothing will be impossible for you!
1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (TPT) Love is large and incredibly patient. Love is gentle and consistently kind to all. It refuses to be jealous when blessing comes to someone else. Love does not brag about one’s achievements nor inflate its own importance. Love does not traffic in shame and disrespect, nor selfishly seek its own honor. Love is not easily irritated or quick to take offense. Love joyfully celebrates honesty and finds no delight in what is wrong. Love is a safe place of shelter, for it never stops believing the best for others. Love never takes failure as defeat, for it never gives up.
