Check Your Heart

What's in your heart? Do you see others through the eyes of God or are you filled with resentment and evil intentions? So many people live their lives trying to camouflage what's within so they can reveal a semblance of spirituality. Unfortunately, unforgiveness, painful experiences, and haunting memories can taint even the once kindest person.
Don't be deceived, rotten fruit will manifest in gossip, anger, and unkind behavior. It can’t be hidden! This isn't a message discarding those who are living far beneath their spiritual potential. This is one of encouragement. No amount of self-help and faking your way through life will change your heart but God's Word and presence will. I often say that my husband is naturally a good person but for me, my past tainted my emotions and actions. Before the Lord changed my heart, I desired to hurt others before they had the opportunity to hurt me. So, I get it! I understand why hurting people hurt people. But God's Word provides freedom from the pain within that's overflowing on to others.
Psalm 147:3 says, (NKJV) He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
He provided a way of escape from the pain, jealousy, anger and even shame that rages within! Repent of the evil that you've come into agreement with. Forgive those who have hurt you. Not by your strength! You have no power to change your heart, but as you sincerely desire change, willingly hand over the reins to heart and mind, openly confessing the things you've hidden deep within, He will begin a transforming work from the inside out!
There's power in His Word and as you ingest it, it will begin to purge what's held you back for way too long! Set your eyes on Jesus and press forward into all that’s available right in the midst of His presence! He's got a plan for your life, and it will begin with your heart, healed and changed!
Matthew 7:16-19 (NKJV) You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit.
Proverbs 4:20-27 (NLT) My child, pay attention to what I say. Listen carefully to my words.
Don’t lose sight of them. Let them penetrate deep into your heart, for they bring life to those who find them, and healing to their whole body. Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life. Avoid all perverse talk; stay away from corrupt speech. Look straight ahead and fix your eyes on what lies before you. Mark out a straight path for your feet; stay on the safe path. Don’t get sidetracked; keep your feet from following evil.
