A New Life
2 Corinthians 5:17 (AMP) Therefore if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life].
When you receive Christ, you are a new creature. The person you were before Him, is now gone - even though it may take some time to realize this, it's true. We must continue to rely on Him for our spiritual understanding. The more time we spend with Him, the more we let go of ourselves and live for Him. This is the ultimate goal; to die to self so Christ can live through us. It's easy to forget that we are a new creation in Him because we must practice being our new selves. If we continue in our old ways and never spend time with Christ, there will be no evidence that a real change has taken place.
I promise you this, when you have an encounter with God, you will want nothing more than to please Him! You can feel the weight of your sins lifted - this is your rebirth - you are made brand new! Spiritual awakening brings a new life in Him. We must join Him in our faith and continually seek to do His will because it is always better than our will. When we choose to do what we want and it's not in line with the will of the Father, we will be led by our flesh and it will not result in one bit of true joy. If you are tired of feeling "blah" and tired of feeling like you have no purpose in this life, stop what you are doing and pray to your Heavenly Father. Ask for forgiveness, ask Him to reveal His will to you. Try something new! Start taking notes, listen to more sermons, go to church every time the doors are open, build up your faith in Him and He will begin to give you desires that will please Him and bless you. Remind yourself that you are not the person you used to be, you are made new - you are better! You are someone with a God-given destiny and purpose in this life. You have a high calling as a child of the one true God. Let God's peace take away your pain, stop medicating your symptoms and start trusting in your Savior! He is the only one who is worthy of it all!
Galatians 2:20 (NLT) My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Revelation 21:5 (AMP) And He who sits on the throne said, "Behold, I am making all things new." Also He said, "Write, for these words are faithful and true [they are accurate, incorruptible, and trustworthy]."
