Always Want More!

Psalm 119:33-40 (MSG) God, teach me lessons for living so I can stay the course. Give me insight so I can do what you tell me—my whole life one long, obedient response. Guide me down the road of your commandments; I love traveling this freeway! Give me a bent for your words of wisdom, and not for piling up loot. Divert my eyes from toys and trinkets, invigorate me on the pilgrim way. Affirm your promises to me—promises made to all who fear you. Deflect the harsh words of my critics—but what you say is always so good. See how hungry I am for your counsel; preserve my life through your righteous ways!

How many people live a life of hunger for more of God? I think that answer is not many - in comparison to the number of people who identify themselves as Christians. Surely not everyone is searching for godly wisdom; we can easily verify this based on the amount of disrespect we see on social media. God is looking for a people that will say YES! Yes to a life of obedience and no to the ways of this world. This scripture is my heart's prayer: that I would live a life of continual obedience before my Father - that my eyes would stay fixed on Him - that He would give me strength on my journey - proclaiming His promises - changing the direction of the words spoken against me - and hanging on to His words because they are always good! To never be content with where I am spiritually so I may always strive for more of Him and His presence.

His ways are far greater than my ways. If I would have mapped out my life for myself then I would not be where I am today. God's grace is sufficient, His timing is perfect, His love is without fail. Take heed to correction, be full of joy knowing that you have godly friends who will stand with you through the trials and pain. If you say to yourself you don't have godly friends, pray for some. Get rid of dead weight so you may come up higher - relationships are important but the right relationships are vital. If you are in a season of feeling isolated, let God be your rock, your anchor, your everything! Stand firm on His promises that never fail and allow the Holy Spirit to teach you His way so you may blossom into something greater!
