Pick Up Your Cross

Hebrews 10:24-25 (NLT) Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.

Let us not neglect our meeting together - wow - how many of you or how many people do you know neglect their weekly church gatherings? If the writer of Hebrews said the day of Christ's return is drawing near over 2,000 years ago, then it is safe to say the day of His return is even closer now. As we see so many prophecies that have come to pass in recent years, and seem to live out different chapters of the book of Revelation on the regular now, we cannot skip out on getting together with the body of Christ.

God says where there is unity among the brethren, there He commands a blessing. We have not been united together for quite some time and the body of Christ is not doing so well. The biggest reason for this is believers are not taking their time to read the scriptures and spend time with God - this is the most important part of our day.

Christians are moping around depressed, even pastors, because we aren't feeding ourselves with the Word of God! Many leaders are only going to the Word for something to teach their congregations and small groups when really, if we spent time in the Word for ourselves we would gain enough fresh revelation that would feed ourselves and those we minister to and then some.

Have you ever been around someone who used to genuinely love the Lord and was always serving at church then something happened, they got offended or there was a tragedy in their life, and now they not only quit going to church, they quit serving and quit doing acts of love toward others? They have become bitter and resentful and the enemy is thoroughly enjoying their misery. Now is the time for all believers to have a great awakening! Wake up and see the reality of what is happening. Jesus is coming back soon and the enemy is using every scheme and tactic to distract the strong and faithful from being leaders in the body of Christ. The Church needs everyone to be active and on board with preparing for the return of Christ. We must take people under our wings and disciple them so they can soon disciple others and so on.

The time for salvation is now! Pick up your cross and follow Him.

Psalm 133:1,3 (AMPC) Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the dew of [lofty] Mount Hermon and the dew that comes on the hills of Zion; for there the Lord has commanded the blessing, even life forevermore [upon the high and the lowly].

2 Corinthians 6:2 (NLT) For God says, “At just the right time, I heard you. On the day of salvation, I helped you.” Indeed, the “right time” is now. Today is the day of salvation.
