Peace
Psalms 29:11 (KJV) The LORD will give strength unto his people; The LORD will bless his people with peace.
Peace...this word has been so misunderstood in Christian circles. As people come to Christ, they are told they will receive peace. What they mistakenly believe this means is that they will never have another problem. After all, isn't that what a peaceful life is all about? When troubles arise, they are disillusioned and some even become angry at God and turn from their faith. They never take the opportunity to develop their relationship and truly get to know the love of Christ. So, what is peace and how is it achieved? It's the fruit of a developing relationship with our Savior. It's the stability and faith that comes from knowing the Word of God and believing that He will always come through with His promises. It's the natural progression of an intimate relationship with the King of kings and the Lord of lords. A relationship so special that even in the most difficult seasons you have no doubt that His presence is with you, and He will get you to the other side with victory. Even when the circumstances look grim, the peace is there because His Word promises that He will work it all out for your good. Perhaps it's growth in a certain area that He's requiring or developing an incredible testimony that will lead others to Jesus. Maybe He's leading you into the path of someone you never could have ministered to otherwise, or desperation is drawing you deeper into His presence and it's reprioritizing your relationship with Him. Whatever the reason for your trials, you can have peace as you remain close to Jesus... deep in the Secret Place of the Most High...seeking to live in the center of His will. It has absolutely nothing to do with circumstances but everything to do with total surrender and trusting the God who created you and gave His own Son for you! It's believing that someone who loved you that much has only your best interest at heart... It's the calm we feel even when all hell is breaking loose, and tears are flowing...but deep inside...His sustaining peace abides... it's His strength that gives you courage to defeat the enemy by the Word of God spoken in faith! Thank you Lord for your PEACE! John 16:33 (NKJV) These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. Psalm 23:4 (NLT) Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. 1 John 4:18 (NKJV) There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. Psalm 4:8 (NKJV) I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; For You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety. Philippians 4:7-8 (NLT) Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
