The Incredible Love of God!

Several years ago, I was at my mother's ministry on her sermon/food giveaway day. It was immediately after 9/11. As I was sitting there before the service began, I heard several people talking about how horrible they felt my God was for killing so many innocent people. I could feel the anger rising in me as I listened to them crucify Christ all over again. Just as I was getting ready to walk over and tell them what I thought, God suddenly gave me a glimpse of His form holding the earth in the palms of His hands. As I looked more intently, I could see people from every nation shaking their fists at Him and blaming Him for every atrocity that has ever happened. There were Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, and every anti-Christian group there is, cursing His name. The saddest part was, there were many Christians taking part in this abomination. I began to weep, and I said, "God, if I were you, I'd scrap this mess and start all over!" As I looked more intently at His face, I could see such incredible love going out to them, He held the planet with such care as a father would hold their newborn baby! I began feeling His love flow and I realized, not only has He not destroyed us, He paid the most incredible price for a relationship with the very ones who killed His Son!

How often do we make mistakes and think, what's the point of trying? We picture God sitting on the throne waiting for us to mess up so He can push a button, dropping us into the abyss. Don't get me wrong, hell is a real place, and unfortunately many are headed there, but it's not where God desires for you to go. He knew we would mess up and make mistakes and because of our sin and His incredible love, He gave His Son to pay the ultimate price.

Do you ever wonder if God loves you? How could He show it any more than He has? His love is without restraint, it's pure, beautiful, eternal and extravagant! As you repent of your sins and accept Christ into your heart as your Lord and Savior, then begin to seek Him by reading your Bible and spending intimate time fellowshipping with Him, you will begin to experience love as you never dreamed was possible! You could never do anything good enough to deserve it, yet with every step you draw closer to Him, He'll draw closer to you and your capacity to believe, accept and experience it will be increased! He does love YOU, He's just waiting for you to get close enough to experience it! Draw closer and enter into the Secret Place of His Presence!

Ephesians 2:4-5 (NLT) But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)
