Hearing the Voice of God
Jeremiah 33:3 (NLT) Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come.
I often hear people say that God doesn't speak to them like He does me. There are so many ways that He communicates, but it can easily be missed. Are you spending time in His Word? It's alive and God often uses it to produce the very message we need at just the right time... That's not a coincidence.
Are you living your life close to His heart? Building your relationship with Him on a daily basis? Here's an example. If my husband was in the other room whispering to me, I would have no way of hearing him. Others near him might catch some of his words, but I'm just too far away. But as I walk into the other room and draw closer... close enough to step into his embrace and he begins to whisper into my ear...I can hear every word and even feel his love and sense the intents of his heart.
So it is in our relationship with Jesus, He has much to say to you and He's speaking and leading in so many ways, but are you close enough to hear it? To feel His love, know His will, and understands the desires of His heart towards you?
Salvation is wonderful! It opens the door to the incredible relationship we've been privileged to experience with the King of kings and the Lord of lords but it's only the beginning... don't stop there and miss out on the greatest relationship you'll ever know. Prioritize time building it. Don't let anything come between you. Not trials, blessings, disappointments, pain or the busyness of life. Those things will always be available to bid for your attention. It's time to stop giving the enemy the reaction he's looking for and begin to give God the attention, love, honor and worship He deserves! Then you will be positioned to hear the sweetest voice you've ever heard!
Job 33:13-17 (NLT) So why are you bringing a charge against him? Why say he does not respond to people’s complaints? For God speaks again and again, though people do not recognize it. He speaks in dreams, in visions of the night, when deep sleep falls on people as they lie in their beds. He whispers in their ears and terrifies them with warnings. He makes them turn from doing wrong; he keeps them from pride.
