What You Proclaim Will Be Your Outcome
Do you think twice before you speak? If you’re like me often times you probably wished, you did. Our words can no doubt get us in trouble but what’s even more concerning is they can affect our future. Allow me to explain. As followers of Jesus, we are expected to speak positive, edifying words every time we open our mouths. God takes in account the words that go forth and determines if they bear any fruit in order to make it into a Book of Remembrance in Heaven! I don’t know about you, but I sincerely want my words in this book.
Malachi 3:16 (VOICE) Then those who fear the Eternal One consulted each other about God’s charges, each one to his neighbor, and the Eternal One paid attention and heard. A book of remembrance was written before Him for those who honored the Eternal One and valued His name and the good reputation.
God listens to every conversation we speak. Because He does that, when the Lord hears something from our lips that is edifying, or brings glory to His name, He records it in the book. What we speak truly is important if we want to be listed in God’s Book of Remembrance. But those words need to be good words that are positive and uplifting. The Lord is not going to record the words you speak that do not bring glory to Him. Think about it, our words can be blessings or curses. Simply by saying something positive, God takes note of it.
By now, you’re probably wondering what does that mean for me? Righteous deeds or words of edification will eventually bring a reward, but unrighteous acts will bring a curse. Would you prefer to be considered God’s jewel, His special treasure or just be forgotten?
Malachi 3:17-18 (NKJV) "They shall be Mine,” says the Lord of hosts, “On the day that I make them My jewels. And I will spare them As a man spares his own son who serves him."
I truly believe that what you speak will be your outcome. The power of the tongue brings death or life but even more important your words come from your heart. God is always searching for those who have His heart. One way to stand out is to speak positive. When we speak and please the Father, we can one day expect to be acknowledged as we stand before The Lord. But one way or another, we will all give account for our actions.
Romans 14:11-12 (NKJV) For it is written: “As I live, says the Lord, Every knee shall bow to Me, And every tongue shall confess to God.” So then each of us shall give account of himself to God.
Oh, to be listed and referenced in the Book of Remembrance. It is something that we should certainly strive for. I encourage you to start “holding” your tongue before releasing your words. Before you know it, it will become second nature to you to truly speak that which God wants to hear. And…He will take note and record your conversations in the Heavenly Book of Remembrance. Now that’s something to talk about!
