Finding God in the Chaos

I was talking with a friend recently, that's been going through a difficult season in her life. She's been caring for the needs of aging parents, helping with her grandkids, working full time, and preparing her parent's homes to sell. She's exhausted and busy from sunup till sundown. As we talked about the hardships in her life, what stood out the most was the incredible peace she displayed. Even as we discussed the tiresome daily tasks and insurmountable responsibilities, her eyes would tear up as she'd talk about the many ways God was not only sustaining her but strengthening and revealing His love in incredibly beautiful moments. Scriptures that jumped off the pages and touched her heart, songs she'd hear at just the right moment and though she didn't have much time in her day to actively seek Him, as she'd worship Him, even as she grasped precious moments with Jesus in her car... there He was... holding her tight and giving her strength to go on.

God is always there, and He desires to do the same for all His children. He didn't say life would always be easy, but He did promise to be with us and give us the strength we'd need to press through and to make it to the other side with victory, growth, and a testimony. The key is, she was looking for Him throughout her day. She knows she can't make it without Him, so she spends every precious moment she has reading His Word, seeking, praying, and being edified in Him.

Even if your life feels out of control and you just don't have enough time to spend in His presence, take advantage of the moments you do have. Though I do believe in putting time aside for God, I understand those seasons... it's not that other things are coming before Him but the responsibilities... it can truly be exhausting. Begin to look for Him in the tiniest details and take precious moments to read His Word and share your heart with Him. He's working behind the scenes, don't miss the blessings amid the chaos. He desires to reveal His love to you, open your heart and worship in the storm, you'll begin to see how much He really cares.

Stop for a moment, close your eyes and breath in His goodness! He's got it all under control... trust Him... He loves YOU!

Philippians 4:11-13 (NKJV) Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Romans 5:3-5  (NLT) We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because He has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with His love.

James 1:2-4 (MSG) Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way.

Psalm 40:1-3 (NLT) I waited patiently for the Lord to help me, and He turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along. He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what He has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the Lord.
