The Greatest Blessing!

1 Corinthians 2:9-10 (TPT) This is why the Scriptures say: Things never discovered or heard of before, things beyond our ability to imagine these are the many things God has in store for all His lovers. But God now unveils these profound realities to us by the Spirit. Yes, He has revealed to us His inmost heart and deepest mysteries through the Holy Spirit, who constantly explores all things.

These scriptures are often used in prosperity messages, but is that what God is really talking about here? Is this just about our financial gain and material possessions? Actually that teaching is so far below the glorious blessings that this is written about! What could possibly be something that we’ve never seen, heard of, or beyond our imagination? The scripture goes on to say that it’s speaking of profound realities and the deepest mysteries of the Spirit.... WOW!

We must realize that the greatest pleasures can only be found in the hidden places of His presence. This life is filled with counterfeits. The enemy offers alternatives for the glory of God, but they fall so short of the true ecstasy that can only be found as we surrender all. As we put everything else aside and seek Him with uninhibited passion, the greatest treasures are revealed. Even in the hungriest moments and most desperate of circumstances, I’ve always found the greatest joy and pleasure as I’d commit to pursue Him with every ounce of my being. Nothing in this life compares and nothing is worth aborting this magnificent journey!

It’s sad to me to see people waste their lives seeking to satisfy their flesh. It’s a constant pursuit for what could never satisfy. An insatiable hunger for things that only lead us further away from the life and experiences we were truly designed for.

Check your heart, what has your attention today? What do you feel you need or have to have to be happy? If that answer is anything but JESUS, you’re searching in the wrong place. That doesn’t mean there’s not important things we need and even want in life, but they can’t have such a grip on us that our focus, sanity, joy and peace are entangled in them. The outcome will always be disappointing and at times disastrous. Following our heart often leads to trouble... following God’s is perfection!

We must put all of our eggs in one basket! It’s the basket of putting Jesus first and giving Him the best of our time, money, heart and lives! He is worthy of our best... which quite honestly could never measure up or deserve the incredible sacrifice that He gave to us... yet... by His mercy, grace and shed blood, we have access to His throne room!!! Don’t ignore that privilege! He’s waiting to ravish you with His love and reveal His treasures that can only be found in the deep caverns of His presence. You’ll also find direction there and He’ll equip you for the journey. NOTHING in this life compares!!!! It’s the GREATEST BLESSING!!!

Psalm 42:1-2 (TPT) I long to drink of you, O God, to drink deeply from the streams of pleasure flowing from your presence. My longings overwhelm me for more of you! My soul thirsts, pants, and longs for the living God. I want to come and see the face of God.

Proverbs 3:9-10 (NLT) Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine.

Psalm 27:4-6 (TPT) Here’s the one thing I crave from Yahweh, the one thing I seek above all else: I want to live with him every moment in his house, beholding the marvelous beauty of Yahweh, filled with awe, delighting in his glory and grace. I want to contemplate in his temple. In the day of trouble, he will treasure me in his shelter, under the cover of his tent. He will lift me high upon a rock, out of reach from all my enemies who surround me. Triumphant now, I’ll bring him my offerings of praise, singing and shouting with ecstatic joy! Yes, I will sing praises to Yahweh!
