The Direct Route to Your Destiny
Imagine God giving you a promise, He can't lie right? So, He leads you and thousands of others out of your hometown, where you have been held captive and forced into hard labor. Finally, the day comes when the promises of God... the ones you've read and dreamed about are about to take place. Freedom, blessings, and an amazing destiny is just 11 days away. You have a leader that hears the voice of God, and you just can't lose following him. The only stipulation to stepping into the promise is complete faith in God's guidance and total obedience. You make it there in the expected amount of time. Naturally, you believe the acquisition of the promised land will go without a hitch, but as you get closer, you notice a small problem... the territory is occupied by the enemy and you must go to battle to receive it.
Your group chooses 12 men to spy it out and let you know if there's any chance of winning. It's bad news! The majority says it's impossible! So, now you choose to forfeit or delay your blessing due to fear and doubt. This decision not only causes you to go on a 40-year detour, but only 2 from the original group of adults ever reaches the blessed life God had intended for them.
Yes, this is the story of the children of Israel, but it could also be your story. We are faced with many battles in our lives. Trials that can be intimidating and cause us to doubt, lest we have faith in a God who is powerful enough to not only bring us through it but give us the strength to defeat the enemy in every area of our lives. We can't enter the battle depending on our own strength or abilities, but we must be prepared.
No one goes to war without proper training and strategies. Learn the Word of God and His promises for you. Build your relationship with Him, so that you can begin to trust Him in the face of opposition and never allow fear to motivate your decisions.
There's always an opportunity to reroute and work our way back to His plan, but that path takes longer and is much more difficult. My desire is to stay close enough to Him to stay on the course He has chosen for me, no matter how bumpy or windy the road may be.
Stop listening to the negative reports and find out what God says about you, your situation, and your future.
Numbers 13:30-33 (NLT) But Caleb tried to quiet the people as they stood before Moses. “Let’s go at once to take the land,” he said. “We can certainly conquer it!” But the other men who had explored the land with him disagreed. “We can’t go up against them! They are stronger than we are!” So they spread this bad report about the land among the Israelites: “The land we traveled through and explored will devour anyone who goes to live there. All the people we saw were huge. We even saw giants there, the descendants of Anak. Next to them we felt like grasshoppers, and that’s what they thought, too!"
Numbers 32:11-12 (NLT) ‘Because they have not followed me wholeheartedly, not one of those who were twenty years old or more when they came up out of Egypt will see the land I promised on oath to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob not one except Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite and Joshua son of Nun, for they followed the Lord wholeheartedly.’
Ephesians 6:10-18 (MSG) And that about wraps it up. God is strong, and he wants you strong. So take everything the Master has set out for you, well-made weapons of the best materials. And put them to use so you will be able to stand up to everything the Devil throws your way. This is no afternoon athletic contest that we’ll walk away from and forget about in a couple of hours. This is for keeps, a life-or-death fight to the finish against the Devil and all his angels. Be prepared. You’re up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it’s all over but the shouting you’ll still be on your feet. Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation are more than words. Learn how to apply them. You’ll need them throughout your life. God’s Word is an indispensable weapon. In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other’s spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out.
