The Amazing Love of God

The closer I get to Jesus, the more amazed I am at His incredible love for His children. This morning I was simply reading a book called Birthing the Miraculous, The Power of Personal Encounters With God to Change Your Life and the World. It was written by Heidi Baker and recommended to me by Pastor Bethany. Every page has exploded the realization of God’s love to me in a new way! Heidi’s relationship with Jesus challenges me to go deeper and draw closer than I’ve ever gone before!

Though I fully thought I knew just how much I was loved, this morning something hit me powerfully. She wrote that she knows that God likes her…I don’t even know what it was about those words, but they pierced my heart and I began to weep uncontrollable. Suddenly I realized that though I believed He loved me…LIKE was on a totally different plateau! There’s so many things that we wish we could change about ourselves and perhaps no one is as disappointed or hard on us as we can be. Jesus…likes…me!? Yeah, I have the head knowledge of that, but when it’s really deposited deep into your soul, it’s life changing! The King of kings and the Lord of lords…your Bride Groom and the Lover of your soul, not only loves you…but He delights in you, just the way you are! Yes, He’s drawing us deeper and desires to transform us into all that He’s called us to be, but even as He’s shaping and molding…He’s absolutely enthralled with you! How do I know? I didn’t know what that word meant, but as I’m writing, that’s what He spoke to me. HE IS ENTHRALLED WITH YOU! And His Word confirms it! Psalm 45:11 (NIV) Let the king be enthralled by your beauty: honor him, for he is your lord.

When we get a full realization of just how much we are loved, not religious head knowledge, but when we are completely convinced that we are the Apple of God’s eye, we then understand that every promise written in His Word is for US. Our faith is then fortified by this knowledge and the lies of the devil that have held us captive loses its power over our lives. Sin becomes disgusting, because pleasing our lover becomes our greatest desire! Who wouldn’t do anything for one who cares so deeply for us. One who knows everything about you, yet stands before us with arms wide open, fully enamored with the one He’s created. He’s made the greatest sacrifice ever just for a relationship with YOU! Don’t underestimate this amazing love!

Ephesians 3:14-19 (TPT) So I kneel humbly in awe before the Father of our Lord Jesus, the Messiah, the perfect Father of every father and child in heaven and on the earth. And I pray that he would unveil within you the unlimited riches of his glory and favor until supernatural strength floods your innermost being with his divine might and explosive power. Then, by constantly using your faith, the life of Christ will be released deep inside you, and the resting place of his love will become the very source and root of your life. Then you will be empowered to discover what every holy one experiences—the great magnitude of the astonishing love of Christ in all its dimensions. How deeply intimate and far-reaching is his love! How enduring and inclusive it is! Endless love beyond measurement that transcends our understanding—this extravagant love pours into you until you are filled to overflowing with the fullness of God!

1 John 4:17-20 (TPT) By living in God, love has been brought to its full expression in us so that we may fearlessly face the day of judgment, because all that Jesus now is, so are we in this world. Love never brings fear, for fear is always related to punishment. But love’s perfection drives the fear of punishment far from our hearts. Whoever walks constantly afraid of punishment has not reached love’s perfection. Our love for others is our grateful response to the love God first demonstrated to us.
