Stretched!
I often hear preachers say that you'll know if it's God by the peace you feel... that's interesting, change is never comfortable for me. To be honest with you, when faced with it, my first reaction is RUN!!! But that's not an option! Being stretched can be painful, but it's crucial to our growth and effectiveness.
The first thing we must do as Christians is sign an eternal yes to the will of God and His plans for our life. That means signing your name at the bottom of a blank sheet and allowing Him to fill it in. Yes, that can be frightening, but the good news is, even if you're the least likely and the most unqualified, He will anoint you with the tools you need to not only complete the task, but to do it with excellence!
What we must understand is that we are not doing His will for Him, but with Him! I love that! Working for Him makes me self-conscious and concerned that I'll mess it up... chances are, if I do it in my own strength, I will!! But with Jesus and by His Holy Spirit... NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE!!! He makes us strong, courageous, fearless, bold, strong and by His Word, knowledgeable!! He qualifies the unqualified, that they may humbly give Him all the glory!
Don't look at the tools that are in your hands or what you're bringing to the table. Look to Jesus!!! He's got everything you need to do His will in and through you! All He requires is your yielded vessel who is willing to put in the time to study His Word, seek His face and do His will even if they are stretched in ways they never imagined! All for His glory!!! What He's calling you to do may not feel like a natural fit, but that's ok, it's SUPERNATURAL and can only be accomplished by His precious Holy Spirit!!!
Philippians 3:12-14 (TPT) I admit that I haven’t yet acquired the absolute fullness that I’m pursuing, but I run with passion into his abundance so that I may reach the purpose for which Christ Jesus laid hold of me to make me his own. I don’t depend on my own strength to accomplish this; however, I do have one compelling focus: I forget all of the past as I fasten my heart to the future instead. I run straight for the divine invitation of reaching the heavenly goal and gaining the victory-prize through the anointing of Jesus.
Philippians 4:13 (NKJV) I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Luke 1:37 (KJV) For with God nothing shall be impossible.
