Fresh Manna

Exodus 16:15b-20a (NLT) “It is the food the Lord has given you to eat. These are the Lord’s instructions: Each household should gather as much as it needs. Pick up two quarts for each person in your tent.” So the people of Israel did as they were told. Some gathered a lot, some only a little. But when they measured it out, everyone had just enough. Those who gathered a lot had nothing left over, and those who gathered only a little had enough. Each family had just what it needed. Then Moses told them, “Do not keep any of it until morning.” But some of them didn’t listen and kept some of it until morning. But by then it was full of maggots and had a terrible smell.

The children of Israel were given miracle food from Heaven each day for their needs, this was called Manna. Moses told them to gather what they needed for the day and do not try to gather more for the next day. God supplied them with their daily bread.

Just as the children of Israel needed daily bread to survive, so we need our daily bread to thrive spiritually. We cannot go to church on Sunday and try to feed off the sermon for Sunday's bread and attempt to have enough left over for the rest of the week. What you were given on Sunday will not sustain you - you must have your own time with God - your own daily bread. Gather what you can each day… not once or twice a month. Jesus is the bread of life, as we come to Him for our daily bread, we will maintain a healthy growth and thrive.

Our spirits must live by every Word from the mouth of God, our Bible reading must be daily - this is life! Don't you desire to experience fresh revelation for yourself? I don't want to live on the revelation of others, though it is good to learn what God has shared with them, I cannot live without hearing God for myself! Just as a baby is fed milk, the infant will eventually grow and desire to eat and drink on his or her own. We cannot live as baby Christians for 20, 40 or 60 years. We must stir ourselves up and seek the face of God - He has an amazing plan for your life but sadly, many have decided to settle for mediocrity and are missing out on the greatest adventures of their lives.

Will you make the decision to dedicate alone time with God each day so you may become spiritually healthy, which causes everything else to fall into place or will you become complacent in the journey and settle for your current set of circumstances?

No matter where you are on your journey today, you can still make an impact in the world. Receive your fresh manna every day - time is short so let's join together on sharing the Gospel with the whole world - until Jesus comes back - Amen!

John 6:32-35 (NLT) Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, Moses didn’t give you bread from heaven. My Father did. And now he offers you the true bread from heaven. The true bread of God is the one who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.” “Sir,” they said, “give us that bread every day.” Jesus replied, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty."

Deuteronomy 8:3 (NLT) Yes, he humbled you by letting you go hungry and then feeding you with manna, a food previously unknown to you and your ancestors. He did it to teach you that people do not live by bread alone; rather, we live by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.
