Place Your Trust in God!

Where do you place your confidence? Think about it for a moment. Does it come from your job? Does your stability and peace come from your possessions, income or title? How about the people in your life? Jobs and things can be lost and people can fail us, leave us, or unfortunately even pass away. Placing our security, self-worth and confidence in anything or anyone but Jesus is actually idolatry because we must be fully dependent on Him. Don't get me wrong, I am crazy about my husband and I enjoy the many blessings in my life. There's nothing wrong with that, but my marriage and life didn't become great until I removed the pressure off of others to fulfill me and placed it on Jesus. My self-worth comes from Him alone! He is everything to me!! The people and blessings in my life do not have the power to give me true peace, a sound mind, a deep unquenchable joy, security and eternal life.

We must grow in our confidence in the Lord. He is the only guaranteed constant in our lives. His Word promises that He will never leave us or forsake us. I know that there are seasons where we may feel like we are forgotten, but the truth is, that's only when we have either consciously or unconsciously turned from Him or ignored Him for a period of time.

Set your sights on building your relationship with Jesus and allow your identity to flourish out of the confidence He gives you. He's the only one that knows everything about you and understands the intricacies of your personality. He was there when you were rejected, misunderstood, disappointed, lonely and afraid. He knows what has affected you and why you are the way you are...yet... He still loves you and provided a way of escape from your pain, anxiety and fear. Even your sins have been paid for with His precious blood and a relationship with you is His passionate desire. He'll always be there and He's drawing you closer. You are loved, desired, called and wanted. He is the rock who will never leave you or forsake you!

We are living in a constantly changing world. Covid, lockdowns, lost jobs, riots and political instability can become quite unnerving. Find your confidence, peace and security in the one who's power, love and faithfulness will see you through!

Deuteronomy 31:6-8 (NKJV) Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.”

Psalm 118:8-9 (NKJV) It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in princes.

Psalm 18:2 (NLT) The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my Savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety.

Jeremiah 17:5-8 (NLT) This is what the Lord says: “Cursed are those who put their trust in mere humans, who rely on human strength and turn their hearts away from the Lord. They are like stunted shrubs in the desert, with no hope for the future. They will live in the barren wilderness, in an uninhabited salty land. “But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.
