Only Jesus!
Psalm 40:5-7 (TPT) O Lord, our God, no one can compare with you. Such wonderful works and miracles are all found with you. And you think of us all the time with your countless expressions of love—far exceeding our expectations! It’s not sacrifices that really move your heart. Burnt offerings, sin offerings—those aren’t what bring you joy. But when you open my ears and speak to me, I become your willing servant, your prisoner of love for life. So I said, “Here I am! I’m coming to you as a sacrifice, for in the prophetic scrolls of your book you have written about me."
I’ve lived this Christian life long enough to know that nothing matters but Jesus! There have been desires I’ve had that He allowed me to experience, but there was no joy in it. I prayed frantically for my will to come to pass, but the result was dry and empty.
This life has no pleasure or fulfillment to offer unless it’s lived in the center of God’s will! There’s many shiny things that call out to us, relationships and positions that seem so perfect, yet they bring the greatest heartache if not first bathed in prayer and the Lord’s direction sought.
Stop trying to do it in your own strength and knowledge. When you chase after Jesus and His plan for your life with passion, what you’ll find is better than your greatest imagination! I’m not talking about material possessions, fame or fortune. What I’m referring to is much greater than anything tangible. Seeking God with passion reveals His love for you. I’m not saying He doesn’t love those who don’t seek Him, but they have no realization of it. As you go deeper into His presence, the warmth of His embrace surrounds you and the sweetness of His Words brings life and freedom. He then, one step at a time leads us to the path of our destiny, but even in the waiting…His love becomes the motivation for every action, thought, word or deed and the greatest fulfillment of our lives. It ravishes our soul until we are completely undone, and nothing else matters but pleasing Jesus!
Change can be difficult and sacrifice painful, but the results…incomparable and utterly wonderful!
Proverbs 16:25 (TPT) There is a path before each person that seems right, but it ends in death.
Matthew 6:33 (NLT) Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
Psalm 37:3-7 (TPT) Keep trusting in the Lord and do what is right in his eyes. Fix your heart on the promises of God, and you will dwell in the land, feasting on his faithfulness. Find your delight and true pleasure in Yahweh, and he will give you what you desire the most. Give God the right to direct your life, and as you trust him along the way, you’ll find he pulled it off perfectly! He will appear as your righteousness, as sure as the dawning of a new day. He will manifest as your justice, as sure and strong as the noonday sun. Quiet your heart in his presence and wait patiently for Yahweh. And don’t think for a moment that the wicked, in their prosperity, are better off than you.
