How Big is Your God?

How big is your view of God? Have you made Him too small? The size of an object can be distorted by distance. If you see your problems as larger than God's ability to fix them, then you have become closer to them than you have to Him. God is infinitely greater than anything we could ever experience and any attack of the enemy. When we allow distance to come between us, He becomes very small in our eyes. At some point it changes our perception of Him and we begin to believe He doesn't care about us or our issues.

If you were to compare the size of a dime a few inches from your eyes to the size of an 18 wheeler truck a block away, the dime would seem bigger. Whatever you are closest to will appear to be the largest. Likewise, if you are focused on an object it will obscure your view of anything else around you.

If you remain focused on the attacks of the enemy, even his lies will begin to turn to reality. Fear, anxiety and panic will begin to set in and depression will soon follow. It's all a part of the trap he's set, with the bait of worry. Even as the Lord is actively planning our victory... His promises become obscured by what we've focused on and our faith reduced to a distant hope watered down with doubt and unbelief.

When your attention is turned from your trials and placed back on Jesus and you actively spend time pursuing Him and studying what His Word says about your situation, your focus will change and so will your perception of your problems. As you look intently into the eyes of Love, you'll realize how much He desires to take care of you. Though the obstacle may be great, you'll know that your Saviour, healer and provider is so much greater!

There's no problem that's too big for our God to handle and no pain too deep for Him to heal. He cares and He wants to have an active role in our lives but in order to realize it, we must get close enough to Him to block the view of what's fighting for our attention. So... what are you focused on today?

2 Corinthians 4:17-18 (NLT) For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.

Colossians 3:1-3 (NLT) Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand.Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God.

Hebrews 12:2 (TPT) We look away from the natural realm and we fasten our gaze onto Jesus who birthed faith within us and who leads us forward into faith’s perfection. His example is this: Because His heart was focused on the joy of knowing that you would be His, He endured the agony of the cross and conquered its humiliation, and now sits exalted at the right hand of the throne of God!

Matthew 13:15 (TPT) Their minds are dull and slow to perceive, their ears are plugged and are hard of hearing, and they have deliberately shut their eyes to the truth. Otherwise they would open their eyes to see, and open their ears to hear, and open their minds to understand. Then they would turn to me and let me instantly heal them.
