Abide in Him
As I lay in God's presence thanking Him for all of the blessings in my life, kids who love and serve Him, 5 wonderful grandkids, a great job and a husband that you all know I'm crazy about, I realize that no matter what season we are in, trials are always present. Let's face it, that's life, but the cool thing is our emotions don't have to rollercoaster with the ups and downs. There was a season years ago, before I started seeking Jesus the way I do today, that I was blessed in every way, yet suffered from depression. We can somehow justify our blues when things are going wrong, but when there's nothing you can pinpoint to blame it on, that's rough! Since I've surrendered my life to Him, I still feel the sting of the blow when a trial hits, but my faith is immovable, and my peace remains steadfast, because I don't have to run to him for deliverance...I ABIDE in Him! Without a surrendered life and a deep intimate relationship with Jesus, life in general can feel unbearable, even amid blessings, but with Him you can experience peace of mind and joy even when all hell is breaking loose. I'll be honest with you, blessing or not I can't do life without Jesus! I've tried it and I'm never going back. Oh, I was a born again Christian, but even that is empty lest you are spending daily time in His presence and studying His Word. It's the answer to all your problems and healing from your pain. So today, my worst day is so much better than my best day without His tangible presence! Have you spent time with your Savior today? Don't do a single day of life without it! Abide in Him! There's such peace in that place!! John 15:4-5 (NKJV) Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing Psalm 84:1-2,10 (ESV) How lovely is your dwelling place, Lord Almighty! My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God. Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness. Isaiah 55:2-3,6-7 (NKJV) Why do you spend money for what is not bread, And your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, And let your soul delight itself in abundance. Incline your ear, and come to Me. Hear, and your soul shall live; And I will make an everlasting covenant with you—The sure mercies of David. Seek the Lord while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the Lord, and He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.
