Even When It Hurts
Psalm 51:17 (NLT) The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God.
Have you ever wondered why God would desire a broken spirit? God has a way of taking something that is completely ruined and making it whole again. With a new beauty, a beauty that is not artificial or man-made but a beauty that comes with confidence in knowing who you are in Christ. The more broken you are the more opportunities He has to work miracles in your life. He will rescue you in times of trouble, when nobody else cares to help you, He is there. Admitting you are broken can feel like a death coming upon you if you have been hiding something or keeping in anger and bitterness for years. Give yourself and your loved ones the opportunity to heal through honesty. Even when it hurts, it is far better to live a life of truth than live behind a bunch of lies. Bitterness is like poison to the heart - do not allow the enemy to trick you into believing you are okay to remain bitter. You are only okay if you are getting better! You cannot get better and remain bitter. Letting go of past hurts and actually choosing to forgive those who have wronged you, is the only way you can move forward.
I have this friend who will always be there for me or anyone else at any time of the day, His name is Jesus. Reach out to him, cry, sob, weep, whatever you have to do to speak out what you are feeling so the devil no longer has power of those thoughts over you. Bring it out into the light and let your healing begin.
Hebrews 12:15 (TPT) Watch over each other to make sure that no one misses the revelation of God’s grace. And make sure no one lives with a root of bitterness sprouting within them which will only cause trouble and poison the hearts of many.
Psalm 34:17-18 (NLT) The Lord hears his people when they call to him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.
