Sweet Counsel

Proverbs 15:23 (TLB) Everyone enjoys giving good advice, and how wonderful it is to be able to say the right thing at the right time!

Have you ever had a conversation with someone and the words you shared were exactly what they needed to hear? I think about teachers, there are times when a teacher can explain something to a struggling student that finally makes sense to them and the light bulb goes off - it's that AHA! moment. I believe many teachers chose their career for these exact moments - helping students understand ways to solve problems.

I remember being at a conference years ago and a woman was in tears sharing how she was torn between 2 desires. She wanted to serve God and loved Jesus so much, she had a heart to work with children but she was also gifted in music and wanted to serve God in worship. She asked a leader for advice and the answer was this: "Why don't you play worship for the children's ministry?" The look on this woman's face was priceless! A simple answer made her heart rejoice! God was preparing her to serve Him in more than one way and it was exactly what she desired but never imagined the two going together. This was a right word at the right time. These moments can literally be life changing for someone. God can speak to us in many ways, He loves to use us in ways that bless others. This creates a trust and friendship among Believers.

May we always share our godly wisdom with those around us. Helping people as much as we can to see their value and know their worth in Christ. The cross reveals your value, it was Heaven giving everything just for you! May you know your worth and surround yourself with other Believers so we may encourage one another through this journey we call life and spread the gospel to all the world!

Proverbs 27:9 (AMP) Oil and perfume make the heart glad; So does the sweetness of a friend’s counsel that comes from the heart.

Proverbs 27:17 (AMP) As iron sharpens iron, So one man sharpens [and influences] another [through discussion].
