Letting Things Go
1 John 2:15-17 (NLT) Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world. And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever.
What are you attached to? Are there things you have that you cannot let go of? Has God asked you to release a few things that are holding you back from where He wants to lead you? Whatever is of this world will fade away, the only thing we have that is everlasting is our relationship with Jesus. Getting to know Him and His heart should become priority because He has our best interest in mind and He knows what the future holds, hearing from Him regularly is imperative.
1 Corinthians 1:25 (NLT) This foolish plan of God is wiser than the wisest of human plans, and God’s weakness is stronger than the greatest of human strength.
The wisdom of God will be greater than any advice you can receive from man. If God is telling you to let go of some things, it is always going to be for your benefit. If you have something that you cannot let go of, then do you own it or does it own you? Learn to trust in Him wholeheartedly and expect great results and be prepared to grow in your relationship with Him. Greater things are waiting!
Haggai 2:9 (MSG) “‘This Temple is going to end up far better than it started out, a glorious beginning but an even more glorious finish: a place in which I will hand out wholeness and holiness.’ Decree of God-of-the-Angel-Armies.”
