Unshakable

Joshua 1:9 (KJV) Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

Some of you may have noticed I've been m.i.a. for the past several days. Last Tuesday, Rick and I became ill with fever, aching...etc... by Thursday morning Rick was extremely weak and felt like he may be dehydrated, which we felt may have caused a kidney infection. We headed to the ER, thinking he would just need an IV and some antibiotics.

It turned out that his prostate was so enlarged that it caused a blockage in his bladder and the bladder was on the verge of exploding. We are very thankful that we were sick, had we not been we probably would not have made the trip to the ER. We both hate hospitals. He was catheterized and lost a great deal of blood and was then able to flush out a lot of clots.

After 4 days in the hospital, we are now home, and we are both getting adjusted to many changes. As you all know, life can change so quickly. All that we depend upon, if other than God, can quickly be pulled out from under us. We know this story could have ended much worse and we are praising God for the outcome... even before we see the final chapter.

If your stability and peace comes from any source but Jesus, it's sinking sand and has no power to sustain you. I'll admit, never having seen my husband in this condition, rocked me a bit. I couldn't stand to see him in pain or so weak, but though my heart broke for him, my peace remained. Natural emotions and pain are inevitable but facing them with the peace of knowing that God is in control if we give Him the reigns of our lives and are proactive in our faith and declarations... we simply can't lose.

As we sat in that room with Rick losing incredible amounts of blood, we worshipped. We had worship music for all to hear and he sat in that bed with tears flowing as he gave the Lord his highest praise! There's such value in knowing He's right there with us and His light is shining in and through us, even in our darkest moments.

The days we are facing in this world aren't going to get easier. We must be so grounded in Him and abiding in the Secret Place that we become immovable and unshakable. Completely stabilized by our foundation of faith. Strong and courageous!

Rick and I know we still need to continue to move forward so that we can face each new challenge with greater faith, strength and tenacity. You see... our shadow isn't healing the sick yet... there are so many new dimensions of Glory we have yet to experience and abide in. Never become satisfied with where you are spiritually. We have only scratched the surface and we have so far to go!

Acts 5:15 (KJV) Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.

Matthew 7:24-27 (NKJV) “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”

2 Corinthians 3:17-18 (NKJV) Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Philippians 3:12-14 (NKJV) Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Psalm 91:1-2 (KJV) He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
