Let Your Light Shine
Matthew 5:16 (KJV) Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
The other night, my husband and I had a wonderful time watching the sunset over the bay. It's amazing, but after it has set and you think it's all over, the darkness comes, and its brightness intensifies! The bright orange glow in contrast to the evening sky and the dark grey clouds create such an amazing backdrop for this perfectly painted picture!
Even as we experience increased darkness in the earth, our light has been given the opportunity to shine ever so brightly! If there's no visible difference between your life and that of others, it's time to repent and reevaluate your walk with God!
Even as the sun is setting and we begin to believe that all hope is lost... there's a glow...a beautiful light that continues to burn bright as the Holy Spirit is moving powerfully in our lives and it's intensifying! He desires to show forth the glory of God through our earthen vessels! His power is at work within us and He desires to reveal it to the world! It's His power that's at work, it has nothing to do with how talented or intelligent we may be, but only how willing we are to surrender all for His Kingdom's sake!
Don't be moved by what you see or hear! Stay close enough to Jesus to feel His peace and remain filled with the oil that keeps your light shining bright!! Prepare yourself and remain alert! Then spread the fire that is burning within you to the world that only knows darkness and hopelessness... they desperately need what you have!
1 Peter 3:15 (KJV) But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and be ready always to give an answer to every man who asketh you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear.
Isaiah 60:2 (KJV) For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.
2 Corinthians 4:7 (NKJV) But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.
Matthew 25:1-13 (NKJV) “Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept. “And at midnight a cry was heard: Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!’ Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ But the wise answered, saying, ‘No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’ And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut. “Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.' "Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.
