Let Go & Let God
As I sit here in this new location, my mind is reeling over the events of the past few weeks. To go from not being sure of our next move just 3 weeks ago to sitting here in our home, praying and writing as I look out at the pond... I'm amazed...
I can't say that the events of this past week have been easy. We've said goodbye to coworkers, some of over 30 years, our church family, friends, our son, daughter- in-law, and grandkids. The emotions that rose up at times were heart wrenching as we moved over 700 miles from the area I've always called home. Praise God that we knew without a shadow of a doubt that we are exactly where we are supposed to be. As a woman who loves her safe box of routine and familiarity, I would have never ventured out of it were it not for God's very clear guidance and direction, not even to live in such an amazing place. I'm thankful I'm here and absolutely excited about this next chapter of our lives.Â
Here's what saddens me...I hear God-loving and God-fearing Christians tell me that God has never spoken to them or guided them as He has us, as if we are somehow more loved and favored by Him than they are. First of all, there are no levels of God's love, because HE IS LOVE!! 100% pure, unequivocal LOVE! He has no partiality when it comes to His children. He loves us all the same and He desires a relationship with each of us. A deeply personal and intimate relationship with those for whom He sacrificed all, so that they could gain access into His throne room.
I understand how busy and exhausting life can be. Before you know it another day has ended and there was no time left for the One who means the most to you. As Jesus waits for your time, don't give Him the left over scraps, but prioritize your precious moments for Him. I'm telling you, there's nothing more important in this life! As you set time aside for studying your Bible, prayer, and worship, you'll soon realize that as you enter the Secret Place... just to love on Him... the dialogue becomes 2-way. Share your heart, appreciation, and love, and as you do, keep listening. Expect Him to speak, lead, and guide you, then watch for the signs. They've been there all along you just needed to tune in as you give Him your undivided attention!
There's such peace when we relinquish control and life is no longer lived to fulfill our own needs and desires, but it's fully surrendered to glorify Him with our time, thoughts, motives and actions! Let go and let God...
Romans 2:11 (NKJV) For there is no partiality with God.
1 John 4:7-9 (TPT) Those who are loved by God, let His love continually pour from you to one another, because God is love. Everyone who loves is fathered by God and experiences an intimate knowledge of Him. The one who doesn’t love has yet to know God, for God is love. The light of God’s love shined within us. when He sent His matchless Son into the world so that we might live through Him.
Matthew 6:33-34 (TPT) “If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers—most of which are never even seen—don’t you think He’ll attend to you, take pride in you, do His best for you? What I’m trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God’s giving. People who don’t know God and the way He works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how He works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met.“Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.
