Frustrated
As I was preparing for this message, I asked God for a word He wanted me to share with you. That's usually how my devotions begin. He gives me one word and I just start writing. Never knowing what direction the message will go. The word He gave me was "frustrated". There's hundreds of things that could be said about this but even at this point I have no idea what He's wanting to say...
Frustration: The feeling of being upset or annoyed because of an inability to achieve or change something.
Ha! Between the last paragraph, and this one, I became frustrated because God was not giving me the words to write. I stopped, bowed my head, and began to seek Him...He quickly revealed the point of this devotion.
When frustration arises, what do you do? Do you allow it to escalate? Do you quickly give up on what you're trying to achieve? I sit here repenting, realizing my frustration was simply a lack of trust. I write so many of these devotions. The hardest part is also the greatest blessing... you see...I have no natural gift of writing. Without the anointing I can't write a thing. Though I do this multiple times a week and for the first few years it was 7 days a week...I still wonder each time what I could possibly write next. I've written thousands on every subject I can think of... yet God... He never ceases to amaze me!
Are you frustrated about a particular situation? Trust Him... perhaps He's closing a door you're trying to force open. Maybe He's simply leading you into another direction. The bottom line is...SEEK HIM.
Close the door, have some private time with the Lord and have your Bible on hand. There's so many answers in His Word! He wants to be the source of your success and victories. He always knew you would not be able to do life without Him. He's waiting, with open arms to eliminate your frustration but you're not going to see the results until He becomes the object of your desire and the center of your focus. He's got the answers and He'll give you the power and ability to fulfill everything He's called you to do. If you can't, then perhaps you're not where you are called to be. Only He knows and He's waiting to give you the answers you need.
Isaiah 26:3 (NKJV) You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.
Philippians 4:6-7 (MSG) Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It's wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.
Psalm 145:18-19 (NKJV) The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, To all who call upon Him in truth. He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him; He also will hear their cry and save them.
