Divine Encounters

Yesterday was an interesting day. I was shopping with my daughter when I was stopped by a lady who said I was beautiful. That doesn’t mean much to me, but I appreciated her kindness and thanked her. She got my attention when she proceeded to say that she could see the glory of God all over me. She told me to continue spending time in His presence, because it was obvious and would draw others to Jesus. I love that! It’s my desire to reflect His glory, so those words truly blessed me!

Earlier that day my daughter and I were headed to the pool. A sweet lady stopped me and commented on the dress I had on over my suit. I thanked her and continued walking. My daughter was asking me why I didn’t mention that I sell these dresses. About that time she turned around and asked where I got it. I let her know that I sell them and proceeded to give her my phone number. I felt like there was more to this than met the eye, perhaps a divine encounter, but didn’t think much more of it. Time would tell... After my daughter and I got home from our shopping excursion she called and came over. She picked out some dresses and before she left we began to talk. It soon turned into a conversation about our love for the Lord and she then had a word for me about seeing me teaching the ladies in our community and how this group would grow. She even offered to help if needed...

I had been praying for direction as I have 1 week left on my job. I gave notice because I simply felt led, but have been really struggling with the decision. I will of course bathe all of this in prayer, but I absolutely love how our God works!

A relationship with Jesus isn’t some far away mystical experience, nor should it be religious or mundane. It’s real, powerful, beautiful and tangible. Time spent in His presence is never wasted! Each moment you commit to Him builds on the last one as you move deeper and deeper into His presence, power, majesty and love. Don’t be satisfied with a long distance relationship! He has a plan for your life and with each step you move in His direction, the more it will unfold.

In this season all I can do is encourage you to seek Him like never before! I know these devotions are becoming repetitive, but time in His Word, worship, intimacy and prayer is crucial and not an option! Our time here is short and was given for His glory. It’s not about just living our lives hoping that He will bless our decisions, but freely offering it to bless HIM with our time and every thought, plan and action!

The word for this season is JESUS!! Love, worship, seek, obey, enjoy, honor and reflect HIM! Not your achievements or your own desires! Only living in connection with Him in the center of His will will do!! Chase after Him with passion and an insatiable desire to know Him better! He’s an amazing God who truly loves YOU and wants to be involved in the precious details of your life. Make time and give room for His glory! There’s so much of Himself that He desires to share with you and so much He desires for you to share with the world!

Matthew 10:38-39 (TPT) And whoever comes to me must follow in my steps and be willing to share my cross and experience it as his own, or he is not worthy of me.Those who cling to their lives will give up true life. But those who let go of their lives for my sake and surrender it all to me will discover true life!

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NLT) Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.

2 Corinthians 3:7-8 (NLT) The old way, with laws etched in stone, led to death, though it began with such glory that the people of Israel could not bear to look at Moses’ face. For his face shone with the glory of God, even though the brightness was already fading away. Shouldn’t we expect far greater glory under the new way, now that the Holy Spirit is giving life?

Matthew 6:33 (NLT) Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

Isaiah 64:4 (NLT) For since the world began, no ear has heard and no eye has seen a God like you, who works for those who wait for him!
