Decree It!
Job 22:28 (KJV) Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.
When our son was away from Christ, though we knew before he was born that he was called to be a minister of the Gospel, it was very difficult watching him fall for the traps of the enemy as his life rapidly began to spin out of control. I learned so much during that time. As a mother, I would cry out to God for his deliverance and waged war against the demonic forces that were manipulating his actions and decisions. Yet... nothing changed...
I was led by Holy Spirit to begin fasting, instead of worrying and feeling sick when I'd hear bad news about our son, I praised God in and for every situation, because I believed they were leading Him closer to repentance. Instead of asking the Lord to bless Him, as so many parents do...I prayed, "Whatever it takes God!!" As a parent, my hope was it would take experiencing the love and goodness of God, but in his case... it took losing everything and being at the verge of suicide for total surrender to take place. During this time there was one more thing I did...I decreed a thing!!
God, I thank you that Joshua is a mighty minister of God who is leading a strong army for your Kingdom's sake! I thank you that He loves and serves you with all of His heart. He is hungry for Jesus and your Word my God is his passion...etc... It was no longer about what my eyes could see or others were telling me but all about decreeing by faith the expected results!!!
One morning the Lord woke me up and said today Josh is planning to commit suicide. I called my friend Vicki and we spent the day in the sanctuary interceding for his life and soul. 7pm that Tuesday night I was still there when service began. Worship started and in walked Josh and he sat next to me. Pastor, who had no idea of the events of that day, stopped the service and had a word for Josh. Our son began to weep uncontrollable, fell out on the floor and emerged a new man. Never again to return to his past life!
Stop being moved by circumstances but by faith begin to decree your prayers into existence! God said you shall be saved and your house. House here is Oikos in the original Greek, meaning family! Stand on that scripture and decree God's will and promise for your family!
Oh! One more thing, Josh did become a pastor and one day when he was ministering he spoke of the night he had planned to commit suicide, but he felt he needed to stop off at the church first... it's so important to be close enough to the Lord to hear His voice... your life and that of others may depend upon it!
Acts 16:31 (KJV) And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
Hebrews 11:1 (KJV) Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
