Immanuel | God With Us
Luke 2:12-14 (TPT) “You will recognize him by this miracle sign: You will find a baby wrapped in strips of cloth and lying in a feeding trough!” Then all at once, a vast number of glorious angels appeared, the very armies of heaven! And they all praised God, singing: “Glory to God in the highest realms of heaven! For there is peace and a good hope given to the sons of men.”
A feeding trough; this is not the place I would think to look for God or for a miracle. Yet, in God’s goodness, He chooses to display His love for the world in an unlikely place. I feel like many of us can forget to look for miracles as we go about the busyness of each day, but they are all around us and often in unlikely places. The hand of God is upon us to preach to Gospel to others. Our callings may differ, but our mission is the same, to share the love of God with all of creation. We preach the Gospel when we live honorably, give sacrificially, and obey the Lord. We must offer more than lip service, we must live what we preach and show others that we really do believe the Gospel.
Jesus came into this world to show us how to live and to be the ultimate sacrifice for all of humanity - why? Because of God's amazing love for each of us! This season is so precious because we are reminded of that hope we have in Christ. We have the privilege to share this hope and live in peace all because of Jesus. May we recognize each opportunity God sets before us to be a blessing and remember that Jesus is Immanuel, God with us. Go and tell the world!
Colossians 1:27 (NIV) To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
