Dealing with Wickedness in the World
As I was spending time with the Lord today, I expressed how appalled I was at the blasphemy and disrespect towards Him, His Son, Holy Spirit, and His people. I asked Him, how does He handle it. The God who is filled with such love and created all things is treated with such contempt. The one who sacrificed His own Son for the most wretched is scorned upon... He quickly reminded me...that's the very reason He did...
As we take strong stances to boycott certain stores, venues, and events (and rightly so) let's also not forget those who live in horrific bondage to the corrupt control of a viscous enemy who is set on destroying their souls and using them to destroy the lives of others!
Jesus did not come to the earth to be born of a virgin, minister the message of the Kingdom and die a horrific death for those who were worthy. It was for those who would repent and receive Him, however corrupt and vile a life they have lived. It was for "good people" that He died but also for the murderer, transgender, homosexual and anyone who would spew anti-Christian rhetoric to the world. He died for the lost and His love transcends appearances, actions, and words. It's perfect in every way and it desires holiness but that can only be achieved as repentance is offered and Jesus is asked to come into their hearts to be their Lord and Savior.
In the midst of righteous indignation against all the corruption in the world, take a stand against the atrocities but don't forget there are lost souls in desperate need of a Savior. Pray for those who are lost and dying. Chances are you too have entered the Kingdom because of someone's prayers!
Mark 2:17 (KJV) When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, they that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
Matthew 9:10-13 (KJV) While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew’s house, many tax collectors and sinners came and ate with him and his disciples. When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?” On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
1 John 1:9 (NLT) But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.
Ephesians 6:12-14 (KJV) For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
