Breakthrough

Let's get real for a minute. We all have struggles in life. I'm currently writing because I can't sleep. The tinnitus in my ears has become so loud it makes it hard to rest. I'm battling a spine problem and can hardly move my neck which in turn gives me a headache and a previous pelvis break has made it hard to walk after a tennis game yesterday...

Lest you think this is a depressing devotion, written to pull at your heart strings and bring pity on me... you're very wrong! You see, all these attacks are merely launching pads for my testimonies. People often tell me they wish they had testimonies like ours... yes, I we have many but that's because we've been through many trials, learned valuable lessons in each, persevered, prayed, worshipped, trusted, drew closer to God, and apprehended the manifestations of His promises.

Faith isn't void of pain and difficult situations but it's an excitement and a patient expectation of the breakthrough. It's just as that word implies. There's a pressing, a battle against the lies that are being shouted in our ears, while only believing the gentle whisper that brings peace and rest in the trenches. It's using scriptures, serving the enemy his eviction notice, while giving praise to the source of our deliverance until we break through the wall of opposition!

Remember the children of Israel? They were given an incredible promised land filled with milk and honey, but it was occupied by the enemy that had to be defeated! It's not spoiled brats God is raising but a strong and powerful warrior Bride! It's not time to whine and complain but to put on your full armor and draw your sword! He's trespassing and if you know your power and authority, he must GO IN JESUS NAME!

I'll admit, I don't always get it right. There are days that fatigue wins out, but we can never yield to it in such a way that there's nothing left for God. If it does, each day pulls us further and further away from the shelter of His wings and soon all that's left is the negative shout, with faith and peace nowhere to be found. That's where anxiety, depression and hopelessness abound.

There's a reason we are continually reinforcing our passion for intimacy with Jesus. In a world filled with uncertainty and the prodding of the enemy, we must remain at peace in His presence and filled with ridiculous faith through His Word, in EVERY situation! His Word is true and He's not a man that He would lie! It's impossible for Him to lie, His very nature is truth! So, if He promised it... we can take it to the bank! It may not always be in our timing but if we don't give up and continue to move forward in the face of opposition, eyes completely focused on Jesus, lost in His love and saturated with His presence...we will see the breakthrough!

James 1:2-4 (NKJV) My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfectly work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

Romans 4:20-24 (NKJV) He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. And therefore “it was accounted to him for righteousness.” Now it was not written for his sake alone that it was imputed to him, but also for us. It shall be imputed to us who believe in Him who raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV) Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths

Psalm 91:4-5 (KJV) He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day.

Matthew 21:21-22 (NKJV) So Jesus answered and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ it will be done And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.”
