Mindful of our Words

We need to be very mindful of the words we speak. Christians have become so much like the world, that it's really become hard for anyone to recognize them or see any flicker of light remaining. I don't just mean our sin, though that is prevalent, I'm talking about our words.

I can't tell you how often I hear Christians complaining about their lives. God blesses them with a job and they complain about working. He blesses them with a healing and when you ask them about it, you hear, "Yeah that's better, but now I have this problem." They pray for a spouse then gripe about their differences.

It grieves me to hear people complain about all of the wonderful blessings God has given them. I don't mean to sound harsh, I'm preaching to myself too. We all have those moments where we just need to vent and we do need to share our pain and pray for one another, but it's more than that, it's become a lifestyle for so many. If we'd start worshipping and going to Him with our needs and issues instead of looking for someone to join our pity party, we'd see positive results instead of destructive ones that bring us and those around us down. Could we just begin to spend time during our day praising God for His goodness? For creating and loving us and seeing past our weaknesses and failures? Give praise to Jesus for dying for you, when you didn't deserve it and the beating he endured so that you could be healed and set free!

I'll be honest, my mind can't fathom such incredible love! When I think about the fact that He considered us before we were created and thought that we were a good idea!? He didn't stop there, He called us into a relationship with Him and separated us unto Himself!! If He never does another thing for us, what He's already done would be enough to worship Him for eternity. Amazingly He continues to do more! He's continually active in our lives and as we draw close to Him, He draws close to us! He cares about every detail of our existence and desires a relationship with His very own children! No matter what's going and what's pulling for your attention...focus on His goodness today, He is worthy of our PRAISE!!!

Philippians 2:14-15 (TLB) In everything you do, stay away from complaining and arguing so that no one can speak a word of blame against you. You are to live clean, innocent lives as children of God in a dark world full of people who are crooked and stubborn. Shine out among them like beacon lights.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NLT) Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

Psalm 100 (TPT) Lift up a great shout of joy to the Lord! Go ahead and do it—everyone, everywhere! As you serve Him, be glad and worship Him. Sing your way into His presence with joy! And realize what this really means—we have the privilege of worshiping the Lord our God. For He is our Creator and we belong to Him. We are the people of His pleasure. You can pass through His open gates with the password of praise. Come right into His presence with thanksgiving.Come bring your thank offering to Him and affectionately bless His beautiful name! For the Lord is always good and ready to receive you. He’s so loving that it will amaze you—so kind that it will astound you! And He is famous for His faithfulness toward all.Everyone knows our God can be trusted, for He keeps His promises to every generation!
