The Words You Speak

James 1:26-27 (TLB) Anyone who says he is a Christian but doesn’t control his sharp tongue is just fooling himself, and his religion isn’t worth much. The Christian who is pure and without fault, from God the Father’s point of view, is the one who takes care of orphans and widows, and who remains true to the Lord—not soiled and dirtied by his contacts with the world.

Reality check! Are the words you speak full of life or death? Are you foolishly going around speaking harsh words to or about others? Does gossip run rampant in your circle of friends? Do you proclaim to be a good Christian yet fail to speak kindly to others?

James tells us that the person with a sharp tongue is fooling themselves! Your talk is cheap and your witness to others isn't anything of value when your mouth is full of poison. You cannot love someone and feed them words of death and destruction. To be pure from God's point of view, we are to take care of those who don't have anyone else. We are to help those in need around us, bless as many people as you possibly can each day, it can be as simple as an encouraging text. This world is full of evil and the world hates us because of Christ, but we are to be the light of the world for the lost and broken and also to each other. We have the power to lift one another up and relieve the burdens life throws at us.

Do not be contaminated by the filth of the world, rather, dig deeeep into the Living Word of God! Keep your focus on Jesus and be strong in Him! Doing life your own way never leaves good results. Come back to your first love - to the One who loved you first - the King of kings! The Christ - the Son of the Living God! Living… living… living God, not a dead idol! Buddha cannot help you from the grave! God is the same yesterday, today, and forever and His Word does not change with the opinions of people. He is our constant, steady, immovable rock, our strong tower that is not affected by the wind-whipped waves of the sea. Keep your faith in Him and walk out your calling, you will not regret staying faithful to your Creator. Glory to God!

Galatians 6:1-3 (MSG) Live creatively, friends. If someone falls into sin, forgivingly restore him, saving your critical comments for yourself. You might be needing forgiveness before the day’s out. Stoop down and reach out to those who are oppressed. Share their burdens, and so complete Christ’s law. If you think you are too good for that, you are badly deceived.

Colossians 4:6 (TPT) Let every word you speak be drenched with grace and tempered with truth and clarity. For then you will be prepared to give a respectful answer to anyone who asks about your faith.

Hebrews 13:8-9 (TPT) Jesus, the Anointed One, is always the same—yesterday, today, and forever. So don’t let anyone lead you astray with all sorts of novel and exotic teachings.
