A Great Treasure

2 Timothy 1:13-14 (AMP) Keep and follow the pattern of sound teaching (doctrine) which you have heard from me, in the faith and love which are in Christ Jesus. Guard [with greatest care] and keep unchanged, the treasure [that precious truth] which has been entrusted to you [that is, the good news about salvation through personal faith in Christ Jesus], through [the help of] the Holy Spirit who dwells in us.

We have a great treasure of Truth that must be told to all the earth. Part of being a Christian is discipling and teaching people about the love of Jesus and sharing what He has already done for us in our own lives. What good is a treasure if it is kept hidden? We have a responsibility to share the good news of the gospel with those around us and to all those who will hear. It's true not all who hear will receive and accept Christ but we are indeed planting seeds and when the time is right, they will seek further. We are promised that when we seek God, we will find Him! He is not hiding from anyone, but He may feel so far away when we aren't staying near to Him and His word.

I lived 20 years without knowing about my Heavenly Father and I definitely never understood the power of the cross before my salvation. My initial reaction after I received Christ was, why didn't anyone tell me sooner? Why didn't those Christians in high school ever invite me to church? Why would anyone keep this amazing love from me? I was suffering on the inside with so many insecurities and struggled to find true love. I searched many places looking for an internal happiness that would match my outward joy. Thank God for Josh, who listened to me when I said, "keep inviting me to church, keep calling my phone if I don't answer," I wanted something real and something more in my life and finally 9 months after my first invite to church, I was ready. I went to church for the first time and I held on to every word the preacher said. I had so many questions but the most important thing was, my spirit was dying of thirst and on that November day in 2006, my cup will filled - overflowing with the presence of God and after years of sin and confusion, I was washed clean. The blood of Jesus will completely wreck your world and transform lives; take a step forward today and share the Truth of Christ with someone who is lost and in need of a Savior. He makes all things NEW!

Jeremiah 29:13 (NLT) If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.

Luke 15:32 (AMP) But it was fitting to celebrate and rejoice, for this brother of yours was[as good as] dead and has begun to live. He was lost and has been found.
