The Passionate Pursuit
So how are you guys all doing with your walk with God? I'll be honest with you, for the past year, I have felt such a call and hunger to go deeper. The things I had always done no longer produced the same results. I began to battle fear in some areas. The devotions that the Holy Spirit once dropped into my heart throughout my day or even in His presence had became a struggle to receive.
I still felt His presence but there's been such a Holy dissatisfaction in my spirit. My hunger for Christ became almost a frustration. He's all I could think about throughout my day and couldn't get completely satisfied outside of my quiet time with Him and in His Word but ohhhh... how I enjoy that time! The call to Intimacy with Jesus was almost more than I could bear, the hunger pains consumed my every thought and desire and there was always an urgency to pray.
I don't know if you all understand what I'm talking about but as we move from glory to glory there's a shift in our Spirit and what once produced results... it's as if the cloud has moved and we've got to pack up and follow...
So, as my passion has increased, and my pursuit of His presence and pleasing Him has become my only desire... after 12 months of a desperate passionate pursuit of His Glory... it's as if the heavens have opened and divine encounters have become the new norm. He takes my breath away as the tears flow and worship continually drips from my lips... So undeserved but very much desired and expected!
He now once again awakens me with His sweet Words and the devotions flow from His heart!
Do you feel like you're in a strange spiritual place right now? Perhaps it's unfamiliar ground and there's something stirring within but you're just not sure what it is? In this hour we are living in, we can no longer remain on the same familiar plateau. It doesn't matter where you currently are spiritually, He's calling all of us up higher and He will no longer allow you to be comfortable where you are.
It reminds me of the mother Eagle who builds her nest out of thorny branches then covers them with soft filler. As the babies grow, she removes the cushion and now the soft nest of security and comfort begins to poke at them until they are so uncomfortable they leave their comfort zone and move on to the next season of their lives... it's where they soar! It's by His love that He pokes and pulls at us to move forward and step up our commitment to seek His face and study His Word like never before!! It may seem like a chore at first and you may wonder what's going on but keep pressing forward with a Holy resolve to obey His will, consecrate yourself before Him, seek His face and touch His heart and one day...the wall that you were confronted with will disintegrate and you'll find yourself face to face with His glory!! Nothing is ever wasted when you are passionately pursuing Him!!!
Deuteronomy 32:11 (MSG) He was like an eagle hovering over its nest, overshadowing its young, Then spreading its wings, lifting them into the air, teaching them to fly.
James 4:8 (NKJV) Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; andpurifyyour hearts, you double-minded.
Matthew 6:33 (NKJV) But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
2 Corinthians 3:18 (KJV) But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
Isaiah 40:31 (KJV) But they that wait upon theLord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint.
