Fulfilling His Purpose with Joy & Humility

Psalm 84:10 (MSG) One day spent in your house, this beautiful place of worship, beats thousands spent on Greek island beaches. I’d rather scrub floors in the house of my God than be honored as a guest in the palace of sin.

As I sat in the presence of the Lord this morning, I began pondering the incredible power and authority He has bestowed upon us. It's hard to imagine that the King of kings And Lord of lords, Creator of the Universe would share such gifts with mere men. I thought of many incredible ministers who have walked in power and faith, yet in their latter years were consumed with pride and sadly ended up leaving this earth disgraced. As you study their lives, you see they were used powerfully to manifest incredible miracles and led thousands to the Lord. Though they started out broken and humble, seeking the face of God with all of their heart, at some point they began thinking the power and authority they flowed in belonged to them and they no longer sought the true source. They became so busy doing ministry that they no longer had time for Jesus and perhaps they no longer thought they needed Him.

The Lord is merciful, but He will not share the glory with anyone. When ministers are operating in pride the anointing will lift and the miracles that were once performed through them will no longer be manifested. When a person who has functioned under the blanket of the anointing for so long suddenly finds themselves empty and powerless, a break down follows.

As we seek God and begin to hear His voice more clearly and see His power manifested in our own lives, we must be cautious to always give Him the glory! It's an awesome privilege to be used in any capacity for His service, but don't allow pride to rise and destroy your usefulness. Right now your calling may be to volunteer to clean toilets in the church and you may be tested on how you handle compliments. If you can do it unto God in secret, without complaining or bragging to anyone about the incredible sacrifice you are making, at some point He will take you to another level. Don't stunt your growth by ever thinking you are all of that, but continue to give Him the glory and do all that you do to bless HIM!! No matter where you are in your walk with God continue to check your heart and motives and remember we are nothing without Him!!

Stay humble and let the motivation of your heart always be to love and please Him first and foremost. If that's the driving force of your life, then you will be content in whatever capacity He chooses to use you! There's no greater blessing than knowing you are in the center of His will...no matter how that looks. There's not one position that's more lofty than another in the Kingdom of God! Each member of the body is necessary for advancing the gospel and we should never run ahead of God to fulfill someone else's calling. Don't look to man to promote you, humbly do whatever task God sets before you. If it's scrubbing floors in the church, do it joyfully as you worship the Lord for the awesome privilege of being used for His glory! Watch as one step at a time He will continue to lead you to the destiny He has prepared specifically for you! But even in the waiting, there's such blessings to be experienced and lessons to be learned!

Matthew 25:23 (NKJV) His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’ 1 Peter 5:6 (NKJV) Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time. James 4:10 (NKJV) Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.

Proverbs 11:2 (NKJV) When pride comes, then comes shame; But with the humble is wisdom. Isaiah 42:8 (NLT) “I am the LORD; that is my name! I will not give my glory to anyone else, nor share my praise with carved idols."
