Are You Thirsty?

Psalm 63:1 (AMP) O God, You are my God; with deepest longing I will seek You; My soul [my life, my very self] thirsts for You, my flesh longs and sighs for You, in a dry and weary land where there is no water.

Are you longing for more of God? Does your soul thirst for Him? Many times we are so thirsty and hungry for more of Him but we don't recognize what the thirst and hunger is for. When your life seems like something is amiss and you have a need for more but are uncertain what that need is, it's Jesus. He is the giver of life and when life is feeling a bit dull and empty, we need to head to our filling station (the Bible) and get filled up with more of Him. Spending time in His presence is exactly what our souls need when we are thirsty. Putting away the phone and electronics, turning off the TV, setting aside time to hear from Him is always rewarding. It may not "feel" like the best thing at first but as you continue to show up and remain faithful, He will pour out His presence all over you so great that you will not be able think about the worries of this life.

When you focus on Jesus, everything else seems to fade away. This is the picture of Matthew 6:33 - Seek first the kingdom of God… and all these things will be added unto you.

If you take an inventory of your soul, what will you find? Are there things that you need to get rid of that have been sitting in there far too long? Maybe you need to place an order for some peace and joy. These are found in our attitudes changing, our thoughts changing and our priorities changing. So tell me, are you ready to get rid of the junk and be filled with the love of God?

John 7:37 (AMP) If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink!

John 4:13-14 (TPT) Jesus answered, “If you drink from Jacob’s well you’ll be thirsty again and again, but if anyone drinks the living water I give them, they will never thirst again and will be forever satisfied! For when you drink the water I give you it becomes a gushing fountain of the Holy Spirit, springing up and flooding you with endless life!”

Revelation 22:17 (TPT) “Come,” says the Holy Spirit and the Bride in divine duet. Let everyone who hears this duet join them in saying, “Come.” Let everyone gripped with spiritual thirst say, “Come.” And let everyone who craves the gift of living water come and drink it freely. “It is my gift to you! Come.”
