A Spirit of Excellence

Daniel 6:3 (AMPC) Then this Daniel was distinguished above the presidents and the satraps because an excellent spirit was in him, and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.

This year God has really impressed upon me that I am to everything in excellence. That whatever level of excellence I am at now, it needs to come up a few notches. That I am to always strive for doing things in a better way for His glory. When God sent Jesus to the earth, He did not do it out of a last shot at redemption attitude. He did it because it was the ONLY way for us to be redeemed - through a perfect lamb - the shedding of innocent blood for a world of not so innocent people. God sent His absolute BEST! He deserves the absolute BEST! When I bring my tithe to God, I am bringing my BEST - before all of the taxes and bills. It never belonged to me anyway. When I go to work each day, I am to work for Him doing my best, and not work for man. When I worship, I want to bring my best shout of praise to the One who breathed life into me. When I invite someone over for dinner, I want to do my best in preparing the meal. When I go to God in prayer, I do not expect little results, I expect great results because He always does His best. He takes the best care of His children, He is the ultimate role model of a great parent. He loves us in ways we cannot fathom! He forgives us for things we do when we would choose to crucify another if they did it to us.

God did His best when he created the universe. Look at the stars, He breathed those into existence! Listen to the birds sing, He gave them the voice to do so. Watch how a cut or a scratch can quickly heal, our bodies are made to repair itself. God is a God is absolute excellence and He deserves nothing less than our best. Excellence is not perfection, rather, it is doing the best with what you have. When we choose to do the best we can, He will bring us to higher heights and deeper depths. Cry out to Him with all you have when you pray. Pray with expectancy. Pray knowing what His word says about the situation, for He is the solid rock and our faith shall not be on sinking sand. Pray without ceasing, praise His holy name and He will be known in all the earth!

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (ESV) Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Colossians 3:23-25 (TPT) Put your heart and soul into every activity you do, as though you are doing it for the Lord himself and not merely for others. For we know that we will receive a reward, an inheritance from the Lord, as we serve the Lord Yahweh, the Anointed One! A disciple will be repaid for what he has learned and followed, for God pays no attention to the titles or prestige of men.
