Happy Valentine's Day!

It's sad to say, but many couples that have been married for a while become comfortable with their relationship and stop working at it. It doesn't start out as an intentional separation, but the two begin to slowly drift apart and the passion begins to dwindle. Before they know it, they no longer spend quality time together, they cease to connect on any level and their desire for intimacy is nonexistent.

It's strange when you think about it. We all have a desire to love and be loved, yet distractions and life in general can steal our attention until the one we once pursued just becomes a stranger and the bond that once held us together becomes broken.

It's extremely important to be mindful of your relationship everyday and always think of ways to keep the fire of passion, intimacy, friendship and love burning. This is even more important in our relationship with the Lord. Don't take it for granted. Your salvation is a priceless treasure and every day we need to find ways to express our love and appreciation to Jesus for this gift.

Our relationship with Him needs to constantly be evolving. We will never reach a point of knowing everything about God or worship Him enough, but each day we must desire to draw closer and explore more of His character, desires and love. The more of God's nature you get to know the more you'll realize you've only scratched the surface. Press into Him in prayer and worship then study about Him in His Word.

This glorious relationship must be kindled daily and deeply explored. There's so much more we can experience in His presence! Your purpose, fulfilment, protection, peace, joy, love, direction and acceptance can only be found in actively pursuing Him.

Psalm 27:4 (TPT) Here’s the one thing I crave from God, the one thing I seek above all else: I want the privilege of living with Him every moment in His house, finding the sweet loveliness of His face, filled with awe, delighting in His glory and grace. I want to live my life so close to Him that He takes pleasure in my every prayer.

Psalm 16:11 (NLT) You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.

Psalm 91:14-16 (MSG) “If you’ll hold on to me for dear life,” says God, “I’ll get you out of any trouble. I’ll give you the best of care if you’ll only get to know and trust me. Call me and I’ll answer, be at your side in bad times; I’ll rescue you, then throw you a party. I’ll give you a long life, give you a long drink of salvation!”

Isaiah 55:6-7 (NLT) Seek the Lord while you can find Him. Call on Him now while He is near. Let the wicked change their ways and banish the very thought of doing wrong. Let them turn to the Lord that He may have mercy on them. Yes, turn to our God, for He will forgive generously.
