Emotions
What is your default emotion when you are hit with unfortunate news? News that affects you directly; a bad doctor's report, an unfaithful spouse, a child that has completely turned away from you, job loss, increase in bills with no way to pay. When you receive news like this, do you react with anger? What about depression? How do you allow bad news to affect you and the relationships you have?
If you aren't happy, it's safe to say those around you aren't feeling much happiness either. Do you allow these emotions to control you or do you have control over them?
Whatever the response, the good news is, no matter what emotion we default to, God is here to give us His strength. We were not created to deal with life's struggles on our own. Tell God exactly how you feel, even if your anger is toward Him! He knows your heart more than you know your heart. When you speak the raw truth it releases the chains of unforgiveness and bitterness. God will show you a way out, but you must be willing to go through the door of humility. Don't allow pride to stop you from changing, make the enemy pay by forgiving, loving, giving, and doing all you can to help other people. Before long, you will forget what had you so upset in the first place. Keep your focus on Christ and bless those around you, your mood and atmosphere around you will quickly change for the better.
Philippians 4:6-7 (TPT) Don’t be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing. Be saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering your faith-filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude. Tell him every detail of your life, then God’s wonderful peace that transcends human understanding, will make the answers known to you through Jesus Christ.
Isaiah 40:31 (AMP) But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] will gain new strength and renew their power; They will life up their wings [and rise up close to God] like eagles [rising toward the sun]; They will run and not become weary, they will walk and not grow tired.
