Glory & Wonder

Psalm 104:31-32 (AMP) May the glory of the Lord endure forever; May the Lord rejoice and be glad in His works - He looks at the earth, and it trembles; He touches the mountains, and they smoke.

Psalm 33:6 (NLV) The heavens were made by the Word of the Lord. All the stars were made by the breath of His mouth.

My husband and I have been looking for acreage for a many years now. Eventually, we would love to have some land for privacy, enjoyment, and the quiet. One of the things we are looking for when searching for property is the view. We want to know what will we be looking at when we choose to build or buy a home. I can tell you that a junk yard is not on the list of sights we want to see. Rolling hills, water, and tree-tops would be high on the list. If I can get a view of the ocean from the middle of the United States that would be fantastic but for now I'll settle for Florida vacations as frequent as my schedule will allow.

The wonder of God's creation is simply amazing. If you haven't taken time out to stop and view the works of His hands I encourage you to do so. Listening to the sounds of nature, relaxing on a hammock in the sun as the wind gently blows, going for a walk with your family and stopping to look at the different trees, leaves and rocks. It sounds incredibly simple because it really is. God didn't design us in such a way that enjoying life needed to be extremely complex. We don't have to schedule 10 family outings / events / gatherings each week to enjoy our life and enjoy God. Many times those very things can be a distraction and we miss the most important aspects of life. Reading books with your children and putting away the phones and computers, helping your child with their homework, genuinely asking your family members about their day, praying together, laughing together, running around the house playing silly games. These are the things we cannot get back. Thinking about God breathing out the stars blows my mind! This was left out in my public school science class. If we choose to be silent and refuse to magnify the Lord, then the rocks will cry out! Jesus is absolutely worthy to be praised! His glory will be revealed through creation. May we never lose the wonder of our mighty God!

Luke 19:37-40 (NLT) When he reached the place where the road started down the Mount of Olives, all of his followers began to shout and sing as they walked along, praising God for all the wonderful miracles they had seen. "Blessings on the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven, and glory in the highest heaven!" But some of the Pharisees among the crowd said, "Teacher, rebuke your followers for saying things like that!" He replied, "If they kept quiet, the stones along the road would burst into cheers!"
