The Lord's Plans are Wonderful!

I love how God works. Years ago my pastor mother, ran a youth center in the inner city. There was one little girl named Lydia, that was extra special to my mom. She loved her like her own. Years later, due to a series of events, she ended up living with us while she was in high school. It was a culture shock as she went from a primarily African American neighborhood to an all white one. It was a hard adjustment for her and there were a lot of emotional moments in our home. There were times we felt like she hated us, other times we were loved and many times we wondered if we'd done the right thing.
When her season in our home ended, though we knew it was God who divinely appointed her to be a part of our family, we wondered if that time was wasted... would she continue to feel the connection or would she never look back…
Today...10 years later... I'm sitting in the hospital room waiting for my grandson, Chase to be born. Lydia is definitely a part of our family. We love her as our own, we call her our daughter, my kids call her sister and to her we are papa, mama, brother and sister! To this baby boy... we'll be mawmaw and pawpaw! As I sit in this hospital room with her biological mother and cousins, I feel as much a part of their family as they are a part of ours!
We don't always understand God's plan. We think the sacrifices we make are wasted and our obedience is for naught. As you obey God and do what He asks you to do, you will be amazed at the outcome. He brings it all together in such a wonderful and mind blowing way!! Keep moving forward, one step at a time and trust Him with the outcome!
By the time you read this... grandbaby #5 will be here! Come on Chase! We can't wait to meet you baby boy!!
