At the Mention of Your Name!

Luke 8:39 (TPT) “Return to your home and your family, and tell them all the wonderful things God has done for you."

In Luke chapter 8 there is a story of a man that was demon-possessed and had been for many years. He lived in the cemetery among the tombs, naked. Now that is a scary thought! I would be more than freaked out if I were driving past our local cemetery and noticed a nude man walking about the grave sites, just saying!

When Jesus came upon the scene, the demons immediately recognized Him, they asked Jesus what He was doing there and confessed that He was the Son of God! They begged Jesus not to torture them - do you hear this? The demons are terrified of Jesus, they recognize that His power is greater than theirs! Friend, you have the power of Jesus on the inside of you! Jesus cast the demons out of the man and they went into a herd of pigs and the pigs all jumped off a cliff and drown. WOW! Imagine how great the man must have felt - getting back to normal, clothed and speaking with others. No more living among the dead! Jesus told him to return home and tell people what happened. To preach his testimony so others may see the power of the One True Living God!

There is absolutely no reason for a Christian to live in fear, we have the peace that surpasses all understanding, when we are living in worry and anxiety, we have allowed the enemy to trick us and believe his lies. We must attack back by speaking the word out loud over our lives. Demons flee at the name of Jesus! His name is above every name and He has given us all power and authority in His name. We are designed by a loving God who has our best interest at heart. He has provided us with a perfect "manual" to guide us through this short time on earth. We have to get to know our Savior, we need to meet with Him more often than our times of need, because our spirit needs Him in order to thrive. Peace is a promise He keeps, His love is so great that He paid it all just to have a relationship with us and allow us a way into Heaven for all of eternity. His goodness never ends, His grace is sufficient and we are recipients of all He has planned for us. My God - How can this be?? May we continue to live in awe of our Creator and all He has done, for His love endures forever and ever.

Philippians 2:9-11 (NLT) Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV) But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
