The Route to Your Destiny

I was thinking, as I was driving in traffic this morning, how we can be in a slow lane and get frustrated, so we move to the lane that seems to be going faster. Suddenly it comes to a screeching halt, and the cars that are in the lane we were in pass us by. Have you ever been in a grocery store line that was just taking too long and you switch to another, only to find the original one went faster than the one you're in?

Just because your life isn't moving as quickly as you would like and the dreams and goals you set haven’t come to pass, doesn't mean you're in in the wrong lane. Continue to press forward, one step at a time and suddenly you'll see the lane open up and you'll quickly be catapulted into the destiny God has for you. His timing and processes are very different than our own, but He hasn’t forgotten you and your mistakes haven’t forfeited your destiny.

There are times that we take the long way around, just as the children of Israel. It could be due to our own ignorance, disobedience and purposeful detours. As we repent and actively seek God and His purpose for our lives, He is faithful to reroute us into a place of abundant productivity for His name's sake.

Sometimes the slow lane is the center of God's will and though things aren't happening as quickly as you expected, even though you feel like you're ready, He still has you in the incubator. You're in His place of preparation. He doesn't want your destiny to be prematurely birthed. Take this opportunity to grow spiritually and continue doing the "menial" tasks you are given. As you are faithful with the small things He entrusts you with, you'll see the road before you begin to expand and your dreams come to fruition. He's not finished and He will complete what He's begun in you!

Philippians 1:6 (NKJV) Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.

Matthew 25:20-23 (NKJV) “So he who had received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying, ‘Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five more talents besides them.’ His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’He also who had received two talents came and said, ‘Lord, you delivered to me two talents; look, I have gained two more talents besides them.’ His lord said to him,‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’
