Spiritual Frustration

Are you frustrated because you love Jesus, but really don't have a desire to spend time with Him? The thought comes into your mind and you know you need to, but you just can't seem to make the time or commitment. Let's be real, you can't help the way you feel, but you can begin to make steps toward a heart change. Begin by setting small realistic goals and commit to them. As you set time aside to seek Him, make sure you read some scriptures and talk to God. Share your heart with Him and let Him know how much you appreciate all He's done for you. It takes time, but eventually, as your relationship develops, you will begin to realize you are no longer spending time with Him out of discipline, but out of love.
Now, let me be real with you for a minute, as much as I LOVE my time with the Lord and experience His presence in incredible ways, there are days that I'm so busy and exhausted that I have to force myself to enter the Secret Place and seek Him. It's hard to understand isn't it? We have the opportunity to spend time with the Creator of the universe, actually come into His presence and yet, sometimes it's difficult to make time.
You'll feel resistance as you decide to draw closer to God. The enemy throws every diversion He can to try and draw our attention away from our first love. That's why we must be disciplined enough to overcome the temptation to ignore our spiritual growth. God knows our heart, but it blesses Him when against all opposition, even the battle that goes on in our own minds, we still make time for HIM!! Share your struggle with Him and as you do your part to show up and set time aside just for Him, ask Him to change your heart and stir a hunger within your soul!

Jeremiah 2:32 (NIV) Does a young woman forget her jewelry? Does a bride hide her wedding dress? Yet for years on end my people have forgotten me.
Isaiah 1:18 (ISV) “Please come, and let’s reason together,” implores the LORD. “Even though your sins are like scarlet, they’ll be white like snow. Though they’re like crimson, they’ll become like wool."
James 4:8 (NLT) Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world.
