A Great Nation
I love coming together as a nation to celebrate our independence & freedom. To me, it represents so much of what Christ did for us on the cross. He came to set us free from sin and bondage. He came and died and rose again so we may have life in abundance, live in peace, receive healing and so much more. Just as our nation is no longer under the rule of another nation, we are no longer under the rule of the law, but rather the rule of grace. We have been forgiven and set free.
We celebrate our freedom in Christ by giving Him praise and honor, by living in obedience to His will. Following His word, not out of fear from a ruler, but out of our love for the one who died for us. To live an abundant and blessed life we have a simple task to do, live in obedience. Turn from evil ways and do good! Even to our enemies, we are to pray for them and bless them. God takes care of the rest. I desire to be a blessing to others to show the love of Christ which was shown to me. I am not better than any other person created by God, and He is not a respecter of persons. So whatever He has done for me, He wants to do for all. Saving us from darkness and showing us the light. Now we have many opportunities to shine our lights into the darkness - it's not too late!
Blessed is the nation who lives according to God's instructions! If you desire to live in a land that is blessed and live a life that is filled with peace and joy, then live according to God's plan. It's a guarantee that His plan is a much better plan than the ones we choose for ourselves. He knows the beginning from the end and can see things we do not. I would much rather live a life submitted to the ways of my Creator than a life that pleases my flesh, a temporary happiness that quickly fades. Living my life for Him, has given me an everlasting joy. It's like a waterfall, it keeps giving out more and more water for the surface below. God is pouring out so much blessing to those who live in obedience to Him that we cannot contain it. It will overflow and pour out of us, onto those around us. What an amazing way to live!
Proverbs 14:34 (VOICE) Living according to God's instructions makes a nation great, but sin colors those who commit it with disgrace.
Genesis 12:2-3 (AMP) And I will make you a great nation, and I will bless you [abundantly], and make your name great (exalted, distinguished); and you shall be a blessing [a source of great good to others]; and I will bless (do good for, benefit) those who bless you, and I will curse [that is, subject to My wrath and judgment] the one who curses (despises, dishonors, has contempt for) you. And in you all the families (nations) of the earth will be blessed.
Psalm 33:12 (AMP) Blessed [fortunate, prosperous, and favored by God] is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom He has chosen as His own inheritance.
