His Life Changing Word
Psalm 119:108 (NKJV) Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
I’m seeking God for direction this morning. I start out with worship, I never want to come before Him without a gift of love and adoration. As this opens the door into His presence, I repent for anything in my life that may displease Him. I ask Him to search my heart and I weep in sincere repentance. Oh, the crying doesn’t stop there. It seems the deeper into His presence I go, the more tears are shed. The atmosphere is so pure and electrified my flesh is overwhelmed and I can’t contain my love and appreciation for His goodness!
I then open His Word, I’m not finished praying and worshiping. It all becomes intertwined with the Words that are leaping off of the pages of my Bible. There’s too much that He’s speaking to me to write in this devotion, but one scripture in particular wrecked me!
Genesis 32:1 (AMP) Then as Jacob went on his way, the angels of God met him [to reassure and protect him].
WHAT!? Jacob is heading in a direction, unsure of where God is leading him. He’s been serving his father in law for 20 years and he’s now free! He knows there’s a specific path the Lord is calling him in and God confirms it with angels that meet Him along the way!!! In my commentary it says: In a magnificent display of His care for him, God allowed Jacob to see that he was not traveling alone. Wow! Not only that, but He confirmed that he was exactly where he was supposed to be at that moment in time! If you read the next verse, Jacob names the camp Mahanaim/Double Camp, the Lord revealed to him that God’s army was actually surrounding His family’s camp, giving them protection and direction! Mind blown! Ok, I know we serve an incredibly powerful and loving God, but His care in the details of our lives never ceases to amaze me. As I’m sitting here, talking to Him about His direction in my own life, He leads me to read this specific passage and it ministered greatly to my heart.
So, why am I sharing a very personal moment I’m having with my Lord? My desire is to entice you to read God’s Word daily. Had I not opened my Bible this morning and just spent time in prayer, much of my fellowship with God would have been one sided. As we open His Word with questions, seeking direction and meat for our souls, we are fed, strengthened and His love and care is confirmed! Reading His Word brings us into unity with Him and as we allow it to strengthen us, there’s no obstacle to big to overcome! It verifies that nothing is impossible when we serve a God who loves us more than our minds can comprehend or our imagination can fathom!
I minister much on the Secret Place and time spent with Jesus, but don’t neglect the perfect union of both seeking His face and finding His truth in His Word! It’s powerful and life changing!
Psalm 119:130-132 (TPT) Break open your Word within me until revelation-light shines out! Those with open hearts are given insight into your plans. I open my mouth and inhale the Word of God because I crave the revelation of your commands. Turn your heart to me, Lord, and show me your grace like you do to every one of your godly lovers.
Luke 11:27-28 (TPT) While he was saying all this, a woman shouted from the crowd, “God bless the one who gave you birth and nursed you as a child!” “Yes,” said Jesus, “but God will bless all who listen to the Word of God and carefully obey everything they hear.”
